A long time ago, Abraham was told by the Lord to get out of Haran into a land that the Lord would show him. To leave his friends and his father’s house to go into a land that he do not even know. It had to be a struggle. He must have had countless of discussions with his wife, late night sleeplessness, tossing and turning on the bed. Just let your imagination run wild, it could be any one of us, perhaps just to move to a different state. Abraham, in the end, did make a choice. He chose to obey the Lord.
Many, many years later, the son of God also had to make a choice. He had already left His home but could He finish what He had started? All the way leading up to His quiet time at Gethsemane, it had been relatively easy. But now, holding the cup up in His hands, He had to make a choice. The fate of the world was in His hands. Finally, the Son of God did make a choice. He chose to die so that we may live.
In the January newsletter, I asked for prayer that we may find students from the “Yao” tribe to go to the Garden of Hope for two years. The Lord has answered your prayers and for that I thank you. A couple from the Yao tribe has recently arrived from Sam Neur Province. They will be with us for two years learning bible and agriculture. As Kek and his wife made the choice to come down to the Garden of Hope to learn the Word of God, please continue to keep them in prayer. They also have a child.
Sometimes in life, we are in the valley of decision and we always have to make a choice. Perhaps we wonder, should we go or should we stay? Should we be in full time ministry or not? Should we give to this or that? Choices! Sometimes the choices are hard and we have tough decisions to make. Abraham had to make a tough decision and so did Jesus and Kek. But, my friends, there is one thing that guided their thoughts. Which choice would give God the greater glory? In all the busyness of your life, take time to ask yourself, “Would this choice give God the greater glory?” If the answer is ‘yes’… then you have just arrived at your decision.
