IT is happening. Mark was in Cambodia in mid-July to tell the parents of Rongko’s 12th grade class about IT. He brought back copies of the booklets describing IT – one of which is now in my hands. IT has been in planning and preparation since 2006. IT is bringing many changes to a rural community. IT is leading people to Jesus.

What is IT?

IT is the Institute of Technology at Rongko. Classes begin on October 4. Students who would not have been able to obtain advanced education in the past will now be able to get a Bachelor’s Degree in several areas – English, Information Technology, Business Administration, Agricultural Technology, and Agricultural Economics. Students are anxiously waiting.

Children’s Homes

God is good!

In May, Mark was at GA611 church in Hong Kong. While there, he felt led to speak to the people about Cambodia. As a result, 19 people/couples (so far) have decided to sponsor 29 Cambodian children within NHO. Praise God and thank you GA611! Welcome to the Raising Kids sponsorship family!

I am so joyful in knowing that 29 more children have people who are praying for them and providing for their needs. Before this happened only four children at the Battambang home were sponsored. Now, every child currently at the home (actually every child currently within NHO) has a sponsor. This is an answer to prayer!

Children are always arriving at the children’s homes of our partner ministries in Myanmar, India and Cambodia. Actually, at the moment, there are approximately 90 children in Myanmar and one in India who are waiting for their sponsors. In India, we also need approximately 14 educational supporters for the children.  Please continually pray with me for more sponsors to join Raising Kids so that these 91 children (and any child arriving in any of the three countries) will have someone who is specifically praying and providing for them and their needs. I know that God will answer those prayers.

IT正在進行！七月中, Mark來到柬埔寨，向Rongko 十二年級學生的家長介紹IT。他帶來許多份說明IT的小冊子－－現在我手上正好有一本。IT的規劃與籌備是從2006年開始的，目前已在 鄉村社區帶來許多的改變。 IT正帶領人們走向耶穌。

甚麼是IT？IT是位於Rongko的科技專科學校，十月四日即將開課。學生以往無法取得高等學歷，但從現在開始，他們可以取得英文、資訊科技、商業管理、農業科技、及農業經濟的大學學位。學生殷切期待進入IT就讀。

現在最後細節已進入整合之際，IT的創立正為柬埔寨開啟希望之門，請與我們一同禱告。

神真美好

五月時,，Mark在香港GA611教會分享，覺得神要他告訴會眾關於柬埔寨的事工與需要，結果，截至目前為止，已有十九人／夫婦決定贊助二十九名住在HNO新盼望兒童之家的柬埔寨兒童。讚美主！也感謝GA611教會。 歡迎加入贊助“栽培兒童”(Raising Kids)的行列！

得知二十九名兒童都有了贊助者，為他們禱告並提供生活所需，我心中感到無比喜悅。在此之前，只有在Battambang 的四名兒童得到贊助。如今，NHO所有的兒童都有了贊助人。這是禱告蒙了應允。

兒童都是先抵達位於Myanmar、印度和柬埔寨我們合作機構所辦的兒童之家。目前Myanmar約有九十名兒童、印度有一位兒童正等待贊助人。在印度，我們還需要大約十四位教育贊助者。請繼續和我一起禱告，有更多贊助人加入“栽培兒童”，使這九十一名兒童（還有日後來到這三個國家的兒童之家的孩子們）都有贊助人，專門為他們禱告和提供生活所需。我相信主會應允這些禱告。

Children’s Homes

Praise the Lord! A generous person donated funds to NHO to purchase land in Battambong for a future permanent location for the children’s home.

As you may remember, the NHO children’s home in Battambong is currently a rental. We have been praying for a permanent location to come. In late April, Pastor Sinai emailed us with the wonderful news that someone donated the funds and the land was purchased. This lot is 60 meters by 60 meters and is located within the city of Battambong. They are developing the plans for building the home. Estimated costs are $67,500 to provide an access road, land prep, a fence and a two-story building.  In addition, the permanent location in Phnom Penh is close to completion. The children and ministry offices will be moving in soon.

Speaking of the offices, there are changes within the NHO office staff. Boeurn Ban has moved from the position of NHO Administrator to become the director of SEAPC LTD ¬¬— the E.P.I.C. chicken company. Congratulations Boeurn! He has been replaced by Sokhom Sor, who used to be his assistant, is now the NHO administrator. Choeun Phath and Chantara Thong have been hired as administrator assistants. The team now consists of Sokhom, Choeun, Chantara, Rathana (IT), and Pisey (Financial).

Thank you for your continued prayers for permanent locations for the homes. As you continue to pray, please keep in mind the successful completion in Phnom Penh, for construction to begin in Battambang and Siem Reap,  for the administrative staff during this adjustment period, for Boeurn as he works to develop the chicken company so that the children and schools will benefit and for the needs and planning for the upcoming Kids Camp in September.

Mark and Ellie were just in Cambodia. During that time, they traveled to the various CCSN schools and NHO children’s homes and worked on various items necessary for the development of EPIC and Rongko Institute of Technology. In her article, Ellie talks about the day that they spent at Tabun preschool. Sothea shares her perspective of that day.

“During our trip, we observed that the preschool in Tabun Village has really grown and many good things have been taking place. Many children in the village have attended preschool. The school created pick-up and send-back service for children who live far away from the school and provides breakfast for all the  preschoolers. Parents in the village are really happy to see their children begin preschool at a young age. The community is beginning to be involved and promote education within the village. We got a great tour by the chief of the village to see the new irrigation system that the government of Cambodia just built for the people in Banteay Meanchey Province. Praise the Lord! It was so great. It is a new hope for farmers and farm production.”

讚美主！一位慷慨人士捐款給 NHO，讓我們可以在 Battambon 買一塊地，作為將來兒童之家的永久地點。

你們也許還記得，NHO 的 Battambon 兒童之家現址是租用的，我們一直在禱告，要有一個永久地點。四月底，Sinai 牧師以電子郵作傳來一個大好的消息，有人捐了所需款項，地已經買好了。這地是六十公尺見方，位在 Battambon 巿內。他們正在擬定興建房舍的計劃，估計要花六萬七千五百美金舖設對外連接的道路、整地、圍籬、以及蓋一棟兩層樓的建築物。此外，Phnom Penh 的永久地點已經接近完工，不久孩子們和事工辦事處就可以搬進去了。

說到辦事處，NHO 內部有些人事調動。Boeurn Ban 從 NHO 管理的職位調任 SEAPC LTD ¬¬—  E.P.I.C. 養雞公司主任。恭喜 Boeurn！他的職位已由他原先的助理 Sokhom Sor 接替。新進人員 Choeun Phath 和 Chantara 是這裡的行政助理。現在這個團隊是由主管 Sokhom、助理 Choeun 和 Chantara、負責電腦設備的 Rathana、負責財務的 Pisey  所組成。

Mark 和 Ellie 才剛來到柬埔寨，周遊造訪各地 CCSN 學校和 NHO 兒童之家，推動 EPIC 養雞公司和 Rongko 技術學院。以下是 Ellie 記述他們在 Tabun 幼兒園的一天，Sothea 也分享她那天的所見所思：

“在此行中，我們看到 Tabun 村幼兒園有很大的成長，觀察到許多可喜的現象。村子裡很多孩童都來上幼兒園，學校安排了接送的服務，讓那些住得較偏遠的孩子可以來上學，還提供早餐給所有學生。村子裡的家長們都很高興看到他們的孩子這麼小就能夠上學。社區開始參與並且在村裡提倡教育的重要性。村長帶我們參觀柬埔寨政府剛為 Banteay Meanchey 省人民建好的灌溉系統。讚美主！真是太好了，這為農民和農場帶來了新希望。”

A few weeks ago, Sothea (CCSN Administrator) sent us a report which not only talked about the third building being completed at the future Rongko University, but also talked about the literacy program established at the CCSN schools. Here is an overview of her report.

Last year, it was brought our attention that primary school children in Cambodia have difficulty with reading, affecting their studies. If children cannot read and have difficulty in school because of it, they are more likely to stop going. This is because children often travel long distances to attend school, reading materials are scarce and classrooms are often overcrowded. In response, a reading program has been established at the eight schools within CCSN.

Nineteen teaching assistants were hired and trained to help students who have difficulty. Literacy awareness is being increased within the school and the community. Students are encouraged to spend more time in the library and study groups were established so that they can help each other. All of these things are working together, in partnership with your prayer, to help the next generation in Cambodia see a much brighter future. Please keep this program, and CCSN overall, in your prayers.

Children’s Home (Partnership with NHO)

NHO Kid’s Camp is coming! Once again, all of the children within NHO and NHO staff children (over 300 children total) will be traveling to the beach for a time of worship, fellowship and fun. This year, camp will be held September 8-11. Our partner, the Church of Singapore Bukit Timah (COSBT), does a fantastic job of coordinating the camp and gathering a team of volunteers to serve as staff.

In September 2008, I had the awesome privilege of being at the last NHO Kid’s Camp and am praying to go this year. To watch approximately 250 children gather together to worship the Lord each morning and evening, and to watch them playing on the beach was phenomenal. They had so much fun. There were worship times, teaching times, craft/project times, relaxing times at the beach and, of course, food! Watching the children enjoy themselves so much can make it difficult to remember the horrible situations that they came from. This is just one example of the great hope that they now have because of Jesus, NHO and their sponsors.

I am sure that Grace, Brother Neo, Siew Wah and all of the others at COSBT are planning a lot of worshipful and fun things for the kids this year. I know that the hotel is already reserved and they are working on transportation. It takes a lot of planning to arrange! The estimated cost is $50 per child, or over $15,000. Please pray with us that the necessary funding will come in, that the planning will go smoothly, for the team of volunteers who will help and for the children to have open hearts and a lot of fun.

去年，我們注意到柬埔寨許多低年級學童有閱讀障礙，影響他們的學習。如果學童無法閱讀，造成在學校的學習困難，他們很可能就不再來了。因為他們通常都得長途跋涉才能來上學，而學校閱讀材料缺乏，教室過於擁擠。針對這樣的需要，我們開始在 CCSN 柬埔寨基督教學校聯網中的八所學校推行識字閱讀方案，雇用了十九位助教，訓練他們幫助有閱讀困難的學童。學校和社區已經逐漸注意到識字閱讀的重要，鼓勵學生常到圖書館讀書，組成讀書小組，互相幫助。這一切都互相效力，有你們的禱告托住，讓柬埔寨基督教學校聯網的下一代有更美好的未來。請繼續在你們的禱告中記念這項方案以及 CCSN 柬埔寨基督教學校聯網。

兒童之家 （與 NHO 合作）

新盼望兒童之家 (NHO) 的兒童營要到了！再一次，NHO 的三百多名孩童都將出發到海邊，在那裡敬拜、分享、開心的玩。今年的營會是九月八日至十一日，和我們配搭的新加坡 Bukit Timah 教會 (COSBT) 非常有心、有效率，已經招聚了一個志願團，正在籌備安排各項事宜。

二○○八年九月，我有極大的榮幸參與上一次的 NHO 兒童營，現在正禱告希望參與今年的營會。每天看著大約二百五十個孩子早晚聚集敬拜主，看看著他們在沙灘上玩，真是太棒了。他們玩得好開心。營會中有敬拜時間、教導時間、手工美勞時間、在沙灘上放鬆的時間，當然，還有食物！看著這些孩子玩得那麼高興，很難聯想他們是來自那麼艱困的環境。這只是一個例子，讓我們看到他們因著耶穌、NHO 以及他們的贊助者有了極大的盼望。

我相信 Grace 、Neo 弟兄、,Siew Wah 以及 COSBT 的其他同工正在預備每一場帶領孩子們獻上敬拜、經歷神的聚會，籌劃許多好玩的活動。我知道住宿的地方已經訂好了，他們正在安排交通。每一個環節都需要規劃安排。估計費用是每個孩子50美元，總共至少要一萬五千美元。請和我們一同禱告，讓所需的金額進來，籌備工作進行順利，義工團隊同心服事，孩子們能有敞開的心而且享受在其中。

Development at the future college in Rongko continues.

In Mid-February, we received the great news that the third building is completed. This building is currently planned to serve as the computer lab, computer training center and educational and spiritual de-velopment staff offices.

Early in February, CCSN had a group of experts from a Cambodian computer company (including an electrician) travel  to the campus to review the plans and evaluate the needs. They looked at all three buildings and discussed the electrical need and how to best accommodate it. They looked at each classroom and discussed the needs to provide the best teaching environment. They looked at the rooms planned for the computer lab and training center and discussed how many computer stations would best serve the need and space. They looked at the room which is used for church services, bible classes and meetings and discussed what is needed to use it to its best capacity. They also discussed the needs for a library and offices.

CCSN has received resumes from several people concerning positions in administration and teaching at the university. Also, 25 students have already enrolled to attend the Technical Institute at the university once it starts. Many more have taken application forms but have not returned them yet.

We are praising God for the wonderful developments of this school. It will be an example to all of Cambodia of God’s love for them.

A special time within Raising Kids, SEAPC Global Sponsorships, is when letters (and sometimes small gifts) from the children arrive. We just received the letters from the children within New Hope Children’s Homes. I am blessed with the joy of seeing how much the children have grown while printing their photos and seeing their joy in their letters to their sponsors as I double check to make sure that the correct letters are in the correct envelopes. The sponsors are important to the kids. They view their sponsors as “spiritual parents” and, therefore, often call them mom and dad. This time, there were many “thank you’s” for Christmas gifts received. Here are examples of what the kids have written:

“I am very happy that dad and mom love me. May God bless you all. I’ll pray for you all…”

– Touch, boy, age 12

“I want to tell you that I love you, thanks for your supported me. Thanks for your gift on Christmas day. … Thank you for your care about me. I want to tell you that I love you so much.”

– Sreyhoung, girl, age 13

“I’m fine. Thank you for gift. … Wish you happiness and blessing from the Lord. I love you mommy.”

– Soleab, girl, age 5

“Thanks daddy for you have gave me the present … Thanks God for he has bless me the present. I really happy here, the houseparent also love me.”

– Chhit, boy, age 7

“Do you know, mom, you are the best gift from the Lord to me you are the same of my born mom.”

– Thally, girl, age 16

二月中旬，我們接到大好的消息：第三棟建築完工了！這棟建築目前計畫用作電腦室、電腦訓練中心、以及教育與屬靈發展員工辦公室。

二月初，CCSN 請一批專家到校園勘察，評估我建校計劃與需求，他們來自柬埔寨的一家電腦公司，隨行的還有一位電工技師。他們勘察了這三棟建築，討論有關電方面的需求，設法找出最好的方案。他們看了每一間教室，討論如何提供最好的教學環境。他們看了計劃用作電腦室和訓練中心的教室，討論要設置多少台電腦站，將空間作最大利用，盡量滿足需求。有一個空間是作為教會聚會、聖經課程以及開會之用，他們也仔細勘察，討論要如何設置，使空間利用達到最大效益。他們也討論到圖書館與辦公室的需要。

CCSN 已經收到一些人的履歷資料，申請大學行政與教學的職位。此外，已有二十五名學生註冊，只等大學的科技學院開學。還有很多人拿了申請表，尚未繳交報名。

讚美主，這所學校能有如此美好的進展，它將成為一個明證，讓所有的柬埔寨人民知道，神是如此愛他們。

兒童之家（與 NHO 合作）
收到孩子們寄來的信或小禮物，對東南亞禱告中心全球贊助計畫“栽培兒童”來說，是一個特別的時刻。我們才剛收到「新盼望兒童之家」(NHO)的孩子寄來的信。處理信件的過程中，看到孩子們的成長，令我倍感欣慰，真是一大祝福。我一邊印出這些孩子的照片，一邊檢查每一封信是不是都放在對的信封裡，讀著他們寫給贊助者的信，看到他們的喜樂。贊助者對孩子們是很重要的，他們把贊助者當作「屬靈父母」，因此，常稱他們爸爸、媽媽。這一批的信件中，有許多是因著收到聖誕禮物而寫的感謝信。以下是一些孩子們所寫的：

「我很高興爸爸媽媽愛我。上帝祝福你們每一個人。我會為你們禱告……」

「我要告訴你們，我愛你們，謝謝你們支持我，謝謝你們的聖誕禮物……謝謝你們關心我。我要告訴你們，我好愛你們。」

At the head office in Phnom Penh, Sothea Chap serves as the CCSN Project Administrator. She is a wonderful young lady, with a deep heart for the Lord, who has dedicated her life to reaching out to the Cambodian people for Jesus. She oversees everything that is done within CCSN. She has a lot of energy, but as our prayers for open doors and fruit are being abundantly answered, it is just way too much work for her to continue to handle alone. At least three more people are necessary to keep up with the needs. Please pray for Sothea — that she will continue to have the necessary energy and strength and that the proper staff to assist her will be found quickly.

As we think of the salaries for the three new staff members, it brings the necessary finances for SEAPC-Cambodia into focus. The current base amount of funding needed each month is almost double the amount that was needed at this time last year. What has led to this increase?

• CCSN now serves over 5,500 students and 194 teachers, at 8 campuses. SEAPC subsidizes the governmental salaries provided to the teachers.

• The spiritual development team has grown to accommodate the growth in teachers. SEAPC provides salaries for nine spiritual development staff.

• Bible classes are now being held for students in addition to starting each day with prayer as they had been doing, requiring Bible teaching supplies.

• A reading program was developed, using 30 teacher’s assistants, to help combat problems children have with learning to read. SEAPC provides a salary to these assistants.

• There are currently a total of nine staff members at the head office in Phnom Penh and the education department office in Rongko. This will soon to grow to 12.

• General office expenses and needs continue to grow as CCSN grows

Again, this just covers the most basic

needs. Please pray that not only will the basic funds be provided each month, but that additional funds will also be provided to help with the continual growth.

Raising Kids, SEAPC Global Sponsor-ships, is blessed with wonderful child sponsors. I see such depth of caring from them each month. At Christmas, this wonderful family of sponsors completely overwhelmed me with their generosity toward the children in Cambodia, Myanmar and India. You will be able to find photos of Christmas celebrations at each of these locations on the SEAPC blog, but here are some of the photos from Cambodia. They will tell you more than I ever could.

在 Phnom Penh 的總辦公室，Sothea Cha 是 CCSN (柬埔寨基督教學校聯網) 計畫執行人。她是一位非常好的年輕女士，有一顆深愛耶穌的心，為著耶穌奉獻生命給柬埔寨的人，為得著他們。她監督 CCSN 大大小小的事，是一個精力充沛的人。然而當神應允了我們的祈求，更多的門打開了，更多的果子結出來了，她的工作也就更加重了，不再是她一個人所能負荷的，至少還要有三個人才能顧到這一切的需要。請為 Sothea，求主繼續賜她夠用的體力與心力，並且盡快能有適合的人員來與她一同工作。

當我們想到要新增三名人員時，就要談到柬埔寨東南亞禱告中心的財務需要。目前每個月所需的經費幾乎是去年同時間經費的兩倍，為什麼增加這麼多呢？

    “柬埔寨基督教學校聯網”目前擴及八個校園，服事 5500 名學生和 194 位老師。“東南亞禱告中心”補助政府發給老師的薪水。
    配合老師人數的增長，屬靈發展團隊也隨同增長，“東南亞禱告中心”要支付薪水給九位屬靈發展的同工。
    除了原本每天一早的禱告外，現在有聖經課，需要有聖經教材。
    一項閱讀計畫開展了，共有三十位助教，幫助學生克服閱讀障礙。“東南亞禱告中心”支付薪水給這些助教。
    目前在 Phnom Penh 的總辦公室和 Rongko 的教育部門辦公室共有九位人員，不久將增至十二位。
    隨著“柬埔寨基督教學校聯網”的擴展，一般行政費用與需要也會不斷增加。

以上所列只涵蓋最基本的需求，請為我們禱告，不只是能夠支付每個月的基本費用，求主也供應額外的經費用於幫助往後的成長。
