Temporary Fostercare

In May, when our medical team came to Lhasa to treat the children, one family came to us and asked the doctors to help their baby girl. She had serious high altitude heart disease. She couldn’t live here and had to go to the low altitude places. At that time, she also had heart failure. She was one and half years old, but only weighed 5kg. She couldn’t even stand. The doctors suggested that she be put in the hospital right away and later sent to places outside of TB. The family was very poor and couldn’t afford to put her in the hospital. Matt agreed to pay for her. We also asked her parents whether they would like us to put this baby with a family in Chengdu. For the first time in history, one Tibetan family is willing to put their child for fostering. We put her in a loving Chinese family in the middle of June. We went to visit her in the end of July. She had improved a lot. She gained weight to 7kg. She can stand up by holding a stick and she also started learning to walk.
The baby’s parents and grandpa are very grateful that we helped this child. We shared our faith with them and told them this is God’s love. After many times of sharing, the baby’s father accepted the Lord. Later we will arrange to go to her hometown and share the good news with other family members. We believe that many people in her hometown can know Him through this family.

This month, we went with Pastor Mark, brothers and sisters from Hong Kong GA611 and Malaysia GA611 to Shigaze and Namco for prayerwalking. On the way, whenever we passed by the key places, we would stop and talk to people about the Good News – even when we were having lunch on the road. People would stop and share food with us and we would share the Good News with them. Most of them have never heard of the Good News. We are very excited to be the first sowers!!!
When we came back to Lhasa, we invited about ten family representatives to come to celebrate the ten-year new life anniversary. This is the first time in history we had open worship. With the GA611 Malaysia’s worship team, the preaching by Pastor Zhou from Hong Kong, the speech by Pastor Mark and the ministry from other brothers and sisters, the Holy Spirit was moving among the families. They were very touched and willing to accept Jesus as their Savior.
We are very thankful for what SEAPC has done for the last ten years. We are also very thankful for what other churches, brothers and sisters have offered for Touching Hearts. That day we believed that God was reminding us how important teamwork is. May the Lord bless those who fear him with wealth and riches, so that they can give them to the poor in health and spirit!!!!

SEAPC TOUCHING HEARTS is saving lives again this summer
In May, Touching Hearts was able to treat 19 more kids living with heart disease in Tibet!! Thank you Dr. Brad Keller, Dr. Prem Sekar, Dr. Boon Yong, Dr. Vivian, Dr. Gao, Dr. Cherry, Linda and Richard Salley, Belinda, Gail, Daniel, Ciren, Jonathan, Laba, and the rest of the Peoples Regional Team!!
We screened 1720 more kids from Southern Tibet and found many more who need treatment. Treatment in Lhasa will begin again this week. Please be praying and continue to support this life saving cause!
Each case will cost our cause $1,000 and we are looking for sponsors everyday. Please considering changing a life and giving to this need.

“May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.” (Psalm 126:5-6)
This is the promise that we had for the recent heart treatment and screening program in TAR which started on May 18. Before the treatments, we had about 20 families registered in a small hotel in Lhasa. A team of American, Chinese, and Tibetan believers could go into their rooms to share the good news and pray for them. We also had a Tibetan brother, Ciren, who stayed with them for about four days. On May 19, ten children at the hotel were told that they no longer needed any treatment. They were healed. Praise the Lord!! Nineteen children and one adult received treatment. Before, and during, treatment we had the opportunity to share and pray for them. We know that people around the world were praying for them too. The treatments were a great success. Glory to our Mighty God who heals and answers prayers! Early morning on May 20, we finished the last patient. Then we headed to Ren Bu, Shigaze for screening. The first day went very well. We were able to give out the little book called My Precious Book and a DVD in Tibetan to about 600 students. The next day, persecution came and we had a rough time. All of the non-believing doctors, families, and government officials knew that we are spreading Jesus – which is very good. We are standing on HIS promises. One day, the seed will grow and it will become a tree planted by streams of water.

On April 6 Laba La, Dr. Shan, Dr. Ma and I went to Dangxiong to look for the children who were found in 2006. There are about 22 children who have heart disease in Dangxiong, but their phone numbers are not reachable. They have been on our patient lists for four years. We wanted to know how they are now, so we drove down about two hours to their schools and were surprised to know that they are still waiting for us. It took us two days to go to five different schools to find all of them. In one of the schools, the headmaster of the school took six students who had a high fever to Dr. Shan because the local doctor didn’t know what kind of disease it was. It was diagnosed as scarlet fever for five children and measles for one. We were excited to know that we prevented a big spread of disease because all the students live together in the school. We know our God cares for little children. He knows their needs and sent us there to find all the children and meet their needs.
